At Hunter River High School, we value the learning experiences and opportunities that technology can provide. The promotion of all forms of learning is core to our educational philosophy. Embedded within our school’s strategic plan, are values that focus on student learning that is differentiated and connected in a purposeful way, to students’ future needs and real world applications.

In schools that excel, educational aspiration and improvement is paramount. Curriculum programs and teaching practices effectively develop the knowledge, understanding and skills of all students, using innovative classroom delivery. Implementing BYOD at Hunter River High School, empowers students and allows them to engage efficiently with technology for the purpose of learning. At the same time, BYOD enables teachers to build on their experiences to ensure the relevance of student learning.

In 2019, we are asking Year 7 students to bring their own mobile electronic device to school every day. Students are free to bring any device that meets our Device Specification.

Please read our BYOD Parent Information Handbook

A BYOD contact will be available to answer questions and to give assistance, but the school does not manage, support, own or warrant the device - it's your choice and your device. Our Technical Support Officer, Janette Lyons, will be able to assist with questions about device specifications to ensure it can be connected to the school wi-fi network.
